Brutal John, Duke Nukem Forever in Unity

Brutal John, The Most Brutal Ever With the awesome comeback of the boomer shooter FPS genre into the scene, There are many studios entering the hall with big dreams and efforts, and today's game is a prime example. With the market starting to get the fun out of the fast paced games, many new indie studios are jumping into the scene for this genre, and many more are getting there quickly and efficiently thanks to the commercial game engine market. With Unreal Engine, Unity and the newest Godot Engine, most of indie games were made possible. Brutal John, is a boomer shooter FPS developed and published by OldSchool Law Interactive , using the Unity engine to its most to deliver a good old boomer shooter experience that bring back the nostalgia of Duke Nukem Forever , the 2001 experience that we wanted to play. with a personal art style that defines the game, good gameplay and a lively vivid world. Brutal John is set in a parallel universe, where a cyborg invaded earth for mining c...

If Sea of Thieves had a collab with Raft, BUCKO will be the result

A more new title is added to the pirate world, introducing BUCKO BUCKO is a third person pirate game that has a lot of elements from sea of thieves. WindRose Studios, the devs of the game, decided to take a new turn for the game adding more creativity with building ships and houses on islands you plunder. You fight enemies, visit populated pirate community cities to buy and sell stuff you find and use to build treasuries and much more. The graphics are good and the game has good aesthetics. Sail in with us to discover the world of B'cko. The environment in bucko is massive, alive and just looks good. the map has many islands with different sizes to discover. Once you hop into and island, you may discover a treasure, after you find the treasure enemies attack you suddenly to steal the treasure from you and so on. The gameplay looks well in the trailer and it was promised to have a CO-OP up to 4 players. If the devs make it a split screen adventure, this is going to be a big hit in...

Like the devs said, Titan fall + DOOM eternal = Ghost Reaper

DOOM eternal with Titanfall movements!     Ghost Reaper is a fast paced FPS action game, with a lot of humping and jumping, looking like DOOM eternal in the way that gives you chills while playing it. The developer of the game himself said: "a DOOM eternal game mixed with titanfall movement". The idea itself is great. Imagine playing as doom guy slaying demons amid of the air after jumping on the wall like total overdose, that was a long sentence <3. The game is said to have low poly graphics, which I think is not bad. The mechanics looks good, physics seem descent and carnage looks fun. There is a story mode with a solo campaign. "in the future, humans found a way to open a portal into another realm. once they opened the realm they discovered that they have released monsters from this realm into earth. Gods have fallen by those monsters and humanity pays the price for its interventions. Suddenly, appears the hero, who was born with powers gifted from gods to defeat...

REPLACED upcoming indie game review

o REPLACED is crazy!    Remember the Crime Boss: Rockay City post, when I said that game devs are moving toward the 80s and 90s aura? this one also hits it, but in a different taste. REPLACED amazed me for the simplicity. A 2.5D platformer with great graphics and compelling story. The game relies on low poly / 3D voxel style to deliver the aesthetics of the game, which was something new for me not gonna lie. The game environment is based on America in its prime neon age, the 1980s. You are a R.E.A.C.H, an AI entrapped inside a human body, living in a filthy corrupted society. That's all what we got on the story so far.  What makes this game different from others is its shape, graphics etc. This style the devs chose aids the environment and the story well. Along with graphics, the textures they used that is seen like in front of the world ,as the flowers in the upper screenshot, emerges you into the world. Flowers means that we are walking in a garden or agricult...

When Metroidvania get the RTX update this is the result, introducing Grime, Colors of Rot

Grime is a mix of souls games and metroidvania     Grime is a platformer 3D game on steam that looks like Metroid games and carries some DNA from souls games, and yes elements that made Elden Ring, the game of the year 2022. Before we jump deeper into the game firstly what is Metroidvania?. Diving deep to the 80's, Metroid game was firstly released in that year. This first game defined an entire genre of games that still keep us locked at home trying all our best to finish it. Metroidvania genre is very simple, a 2D, 2.5D and more recently 3D side platforming, looking like the classical mario games, but with exploring. When you enter a level in grime, castlevania series back there on PS3 or what so ever metroidvania games, you are open to explore the level at your own will, mostly no scripted action, or forced direction. There is no right or wrong, you choose to explore the upper part first or the lower part. with each having the difficulty of stunts, enemies, traps and s...

What would the original doom look like if it was remastered? introducing Selaco

Selaco is a great game based on GZDOOM architecture Merry Christmas, folks! This game actually surprised me once I hopped to play and test the demo. Selaco just looks 3D and you will be astonished to discover that some game elements are 2D. This game is going to be a huge hit in FPS games. The story is currently not discussed as the current game demo is actually story free. Not much is said about it in the demo. I personally think this is a marvelous piece to merge both 2D and 3D textures together. Exploring the 3D world just looks above average, then the hard fact hits you when you discover that your enemies are 2D, aggressive and smart. The gameplay is fast, like the more renewed DOOM series (eternal included).   Other things that amazed me in this demo was the interactive environment that you can actually play with. Press E to fold an emergency bed, Press E (the interacting button) to carry a chair, turn on or off a computer, write on keyboard, carry a stuffed toy be...

Zombie survival games have evolved, introducing Vorax on indiegala

Vorax is a survival game that is looking fresh Survival games are evolving over time, beginning from minecraft to a more zombie story based games as Resident Evil games. Vorax is actually developed by a team of enthusiast game makers at IndieGala. For who don't know, Indiegala is a digital destribution platform that sell games and more other stuff. From the videos released by the devs on twitter, the game looks amazing. While you are on a helicopter, you suddenly have a crash and drop on a mediterranean island. While walking on the island, you discover that there is a pathogen that expanded on the island and caused people to turn into monsters and zombies. Having only a basic survival kit, you thrive to survive in this bloody monstrous environment. With time spent on the island, you start collecting wood sticks, the equivalent of wood blocks in minecraft, and progress through crafting system to deliver more weapons that you use to protect yourself from those animals. This story is ...

Onirism is an amazing game that deserves some love

Onirism is an awesome game that revamped a generation we miss in gaming While spending time hunting new games under development in twitter search, I stumble upon Onirism. This game looks good, a lot of frenetic fights and most fun. With the gaming world evolving over time, we start to see new combination of game genre that was unseen before. This game is Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, but with a cartoony graphics. This reminds me of old PS2 games that overtook the same genre of games. Sly Cooper series and the more renowned series on new gen consoles Rachet and Clank were some of them.   Now we need some time to see how Onirism graphics look like. The developers, Crimson Tales, did a great job in defining their game's graphics. Combined with the toony look of the game, the lighting, the glare of light and the blur is what make the game look gorgeous. What gives a game good shape? there are many answers for this question, for me it is the environment that you indulge in. The devs did ...

Taking your soldier to shells of enemies

Shell Soldier is coming slowly to the tip of climax     Solo indie developers have developed through the years, and undoubtedly delivered us some great games to play that we would never forget. Minecraft, Stardew Valley, Tetris and the most modern title of Choo-Choo Charles. These games were a real pinnacle for delivering us great experiences without really using more than a brain, 2 hands and a lot of time. Shell Soldier is a FPS fast tempo game, that combines elements from Superhot and little bit of Doom. The game relies on an awesome combat system that I personally like which is frenetic gunfights that do not stop. The gameplay is very fast, your enemies are numerous and you carry many guns at your disposal to kill those enemies. But why kill those enemies you ask? The answer is simple, you are an agent for a new government, recruited to hunt down a criminal organisation that caused many terrible crimes recently. You use modern technology movements and weapons like A...

Your morals will be put to test with BLACKTAIL

What Focus Entertainment added to this game is awesome      If you like witch stories and myths of a haunted house at the middle of the forest, then this game is for you. Based on the Slavic myths of Baba Yaga, this game tried to do the impossible to give you, the gamer, an unforgettable experience. Pack up your bags, sandwiches and bag of water to set sail for your mind in the world of BLACKTAIL brought to you by PARASIGHT Studios, released on 15 December of 2022. Wait! wait! up there, before we set ourselves into the jungles of the game, we need to do some debriefing about our mission, and the debriefing is of course about the myth of Baba Yaga. In the Slavic folklore (eastern Europe), there was a myth of an old witch that lives in the forest, that was one of 3 sisters, had legs that of chicken and always appeared in a donor or an evil role that was ambiguous. The witch's name was Baba Yaga. Okay! Why all of this story you ask?, the answer is simple, you play as Yaga th...

Space Exploration Adventure on the next level is here

Space looks awesome Who wants to visit the Moon, and see the space without cutting the pockets from the trousers. With the prices for visiting the space is very expensive, a set of game developers desired to offer this experience to gamers all over the world. How can a game developer do it, without making a game for it. Explore the the planets of the galaxy, each with a special environment with many challenges and enemies. and many more coming in this currently in development game called Moon Mystery. Moon Mystery is a mix of a lot of genres in the same game. Exploration of the moon with realistic environments and some lite action of the enemies that you wouldn't expect ever, all of this is mixed with  puzzles set within the environment.
