Onirism is an awesome game that revamped a generation we miss in gaming
While spending time hunting new games under development in twitter search, I stumble upon Onirism. This game looks good, a lot of frenetic fights and most fun. With the gaming world evolving over time, we start to see new combination of game genre that was unseen before. This game is Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, but with a cartoony graphics. This reminds me of old PS2 games that overtook the same genre of games. Sly Cooper series and the more renowned series on new gen consoles Rachet and Clank were some of them.
Now we need some time to see how Onirism graphics look like. The developers, Crimson Tales, did a great job in defining their game's graphics. Combined with the toony look of the game, the lighting, the glare of light and the blur is what make the game look gorgeous.
What gives a game good shape? there are many answers for this question, for me it is the environment that you indulge in. The devs did a good job doing it. Using many different colors and enigmas that look like dreams, the game looks as it feels. These environments include 'Chromafalls' where it looks like a forest with a lot of greens and waterfalls. Other maps as 'inferno valley' that looks red and filled with lava. 'the glacier' is typical to its name, a snowy blue cold world. The devs are making a lot more that you can check here: Onirism Roadmap
A long time ago in a galaxy far far away, there was a young girl called Carol, she was lying on her bed with her toy, 'Bunbun'. Fast asleep, she was awaken by a mysterious monster that took her stuffed friend and escaped in a magical portal. Listening only to her courage, she grabbed her umbrella and jumped behind the monster to save her buddy. Through the portal she went till she landed in the mysterious land of "Crearia". Once she gets to explore the world, she gets opposed by some monsters. With her courage again, she fights those monsters and save her buddy. What a great chill story did I read. This is the story of Onirism to be summed up much for a young boy to enjoy. This is different from the current wave of video games, as more and more devs are turning toward realism. I didn't lie when I said that this game hits the 2000s PS2 toony graphics games as Sly Cooper and others. This story alone is enough to keep you immersed in the game for so long, trying to save your stuffed buddy. As stated currently by the devs, there are 4 chapters playable from the story, from a main 10 chapters.
To enjoy this immersive story, Carol needs tools, and the world gives you enough of them. As you explore Crearia, you stumble upon cartoony weapons and guns that help you to kill monsters. Ranging from 'boom stick', a toony shotgun "made for bad aimers" titled gun. One of the touches they made is they name the guns as "pistoy" not pistols, again following on a cartoony 2000s genre.
Crimson Tales nailed it with the game's combat. Fast fun shooting that looks like Doom, but with the Spongebob vibes, which I enjoy as my childhood was filled with PS2 and PS3 games with same vibes. you go and shoot those enemies that start attacking you at different angles and shoot many projectiles at you. It is a wonderful experience that everyone should try in my opinion. With the newest update released, the game has now added the feature to switch 3rd person view to first person view, giving you an enjoyable fps adventure.

This game has something that I have been missing for a lot lately, which is 4-man split screen co-op fun. This game can support up to 4 players with controllers. Only downside that it supports only one player with keyboard and mouse.
Minimum requirements as stated on steam:
- Processor: 2.4 GHz
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Graphics: GTX 950
- Storage: 18 GB available
