Farming on space has got better with Distant Blooms
Distant Blooms developed by Ember Trail is a great upcoming game. The game is about farming and building a small colony on a planet that you landed on with a great crash. Once you get out of the "Cryo-chamber", you realize that you are alone with a helping drone and need to search for your allies. With the only help of a small robotic drone and tools as scanner gun (reminds me of No Man's Sky) and you get to use more tools once you get to crafting and so on. This is Distant Bloom and with you, Joey.
First things first, The game ran well on linux, no issues what so ever. There was only a problem with the intro video in the game as it was a black screen. But once the intro ends the game starts normally. The game had a catchy stylish art style and graphics. Its was very good and distinctive. It had great textures and good shaders from the technical view, and it didn't tax much on my PC. The only problem was that it was very heavy on CPU. my FX-3650 6 core 3.9 GHz was leaping at 90%s all the time, but it ran very smooth at the end. The tutorial system was great, how the drone helps you throughout the start of the game was great. The game looks like the chill type, where you enjoy the scenery and farm crops. It had a catchy story, that I got to understand without watching the intro scene.
I liked the dialogue system. It gave me a lot of information about the game as well as some depth to the characters ahem "spacefarers". You get to clean the planet that you landed on and try to bring nature back home as the devs said about the game. You get to plant trees and plants and get the green grass to reach everywhere on the planet. I liked the effect of the grass spreading like a fluid. It had a great ASMR feeling to watch it play and get further and spread on the landscapes of the planet. The game had stylized scenery like no before. Great scenery with green landscapes, after your efforts to improve planet's nature ofc. Shout out to the devs for making a great game like this. in Distant Blooms, you have a very vast areas of exploration. You get to move between hills and collect materials for your crafting and discover others of your kind that fell on the planet.
The Verdict
Distant Blooms by Ember Trails is a great chill game. The kind of game that you play to cool off your mind and meditate at the cool scenery you see in the screen. It was a great experience and encourage everyone to buy the game on steam. The game is still under development and it is said that it will be released on 2023. Make sure to wishlist the game on steam to support the developers on the game. see you on the next gig folks, Joey
